Amulet Day 39/100

Center motif on grey is the popular Japanese Noshi-Awabi symbol of good luck that goes WAY back to the era when fisherman’s wives tied dried abalone skins to a branch on the beach to send the men off with best wishes. All fabrics are snippets of Japanese cotton yukata (summer kimono cloth) which I sold in the biz—except the yellow—which is from Kawamoto’s hand-dyed harlequin solids (1989). So many spirit memories of cloth. Sweet Cloisonné bauble and dragonfly are donations from friend, Jean Shackleford.
