Look No Further |

36" w. x 36" ht.
Japanese and American commercial cottons, some hand-dyed cottons;
1998. Machine pieced, quilted by hand and embellished. Created especially for the Manhattan Quilt Guild's traveling exhibition, "Yardworks," this piece took its initial inspiration from a quote by
the character Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz: "If I ever go looking for my heart's desire again, I won't look any further than my own backyard... because if it isn't there,
I never really lost it to begin with."
In my mid-forties, I seem to be asking myself what is really important, and how do I want to be spending my time... this answer keeps coming up: making quilts.
