We hope to have the revised ITINERARY for Japan-uary 2009 by April. Please click here to be notified when it is available. In the meantime, please note the new tour prices may vary from the 2008 trip, as detailed below, due to rising fuel costs and currency exchange rates:
PRICING & PAYMENT SCHEDULE for Japan-uary 2008

Japan-uary 2008 PRICE INCLUDES:
TRANSPORTATION: One way chartered bus transfer from Tokyo hotel to Lake Kawaguchi and from Lake Kawaguchi to Odawara. Bullet trains from Odawara to Nagoya. Round-trip chartered bus from Nagoya to Arimatsu and train from Nagoya to Kyoto. 2 Limo bus coupons per person for airport transfers.
HOTELS / ACCOMMODATIONS: Five (5) nights in Tokyo, one (1) night in Nagoya, and Four (4) nights in Kyoto. Standard twin-bedded rooms with
bath/shower on a basis of two per room. Single rooms available at an additional cost as
indicated. Rooms are equipped with hair dryer, tea pot, robe, & slippers. Names of hotels will be announced and hotel brochures will be distributed prior to departure. If you have a question about the hotels we use, please contact Susan.
MEALS: Ten (10) Full-American breakfasts at hotels and four (4) lunches. Tax & gratuities included.
SIGHTSEEING: All admissions to sites, temples, & museums as specified in itinerary including two day admission to quilt festival. Other activities at Quilt Festival will be optional and at an additional cost.
AND: Luggage transfers from Tokyo hotel to Kyoto hotel by separate truck. Maximum 2 pieces up to 44 lbs. each, per person. All gratuities for these luggage transfers as well as gratuities to sightseeing guides and hotel porters.
Japan-uary 2008 PRICE DOES NOT INCLUDE:
Any charges for passport or visas where required; Airport departure tax in Japan, if applicable (please note: Kansai Airport requires about 3000 YEN at departure); Charges for transfer of heavy luggage in excess of two bags per person; Room Service charges; Meals not included in the itinerary; Alcoholic Beverages; Insurance; Telephone Calls; Public Transportation or Shared Taxis where tour buses are not specified and/or transfers such as taxis where individually required; Costs for optional tours/excursions during specified free time, or optional activities, and ALL other expenditures of personal nature including, but not limited to FABRIC!!
RESERVATION AND PAYMENT SCHEDULE:
Reservations are on a first-come, first-served basis. To make a reservation, send the completed reservation form along with a $300 deposit either in the form of a check or credit card. Checks should be made payable to JAPAN TRAVEL BUREAU, USA, Inc. To pay by credit card, photocopy the front and the back of your card and include a letter with your reservation indicating your permission for JTB, USA, Inc. use of the card. Be specific as to the amount you are charging and the name and date of the tour, etc.

Written Confirmation of Acceptance will be mailed from Quilters' Express as soon as a group of ten has formed. Deposits will be sent as a group to JTB at that time. Next, you will receive an invoice from JTB showing both the deposit received and the balance due ( also payable to JAPAN TRAVEL BUREAU, USA, Inc.). The balance of the tour cost is due no later than November 22, 2007 (about 2 months prior to departure).
**SPECIAL NOTE ABOUT AIRFARE: JTB will be offering either a group flight from one departure point, with connecting flights from your town-- or, the best deal available to/from Japan on an individual basis. These flight arrangements will be announced in late November/ early December 2007. Airfare is NOT included in the LAND COST as shown above. We hope to be able to offer you the most competitive air rate available. Participants outside the continental USA, please inquire.
