Quilters' Express Japanese Fabric Club
Since 1988, Quilters' Express to Japan has vended at select quilt festivals offering a wide range of beautiful fabrics indigenous to Japan, which are of excellent quality and which are not readily available at your local quilt shop. If you're not able to attend quilt shows, Quilters' Express now offers to send the fabric to you!
The Quilters' Express Japanese Fabric Club is designed for people who love Japanese fabric
and who want something a little different from what the general quilting world is being offered.
It is also for people who collect Japanese fabric, and who want to enhance their collection.
This is not a sample club and you will NOT receive small swatches of fabric.
Instead, you will receive actual yardage of goods.
This is an auto-ship program where you automatically receive the best of what Quilters' Express has to offer
and you get it FIRST. Essentially, by joining the Japanese Fabric Club, you become a preferred customer of Quilters' Express to Japan.

Above are thumbnails of fabric packs sent to members of the Fabric Club. You can click on them to see larger images of the fabric. PLEASE NOTE: Fabrics of previous shipments may no longer be available. Quilters' Express offers these images only to show examples of fabric club packs.
Here's how it works:
Fabric will arrive at your doorstep in arranged groups or “stories”
and they will work together so that you could make a small quilt or
a garment from the pack. A “story” usually has a theme
and shows a Japanese color grouping. It could also could focus on
a particular set of Japanese symbols or imagery. Or, it might focus
on a production method or technique indigenous to Japan, such as indigo
dyeing or stenciling. A letter will accompany each group to discuss
the particular fabrics that make up the group.
Throughout the year, much of what is sent to you will be available ONLY through Quilters' Express. Although some fabrics may be commercially available elsewhere in the United States, they will have been printed in Japan, or in some way help to complete a certain look or feeling that is "Japanese." Typically, you will receive between 2-3 yards of fabric (keeping in mind that the width of the fabric may vary between 15"-45") and the pack will have a value of at least $35.95. There will be no duplication of fabrics over the year.
With each mailing, J.F.C. members will also receive special one-time offerings for books, patterns, and other products with a Japanese flavor.
